A marketing and communications innovator, Jerry Cobb began his professional life in journalism, interning
at The Nation magazine in New York City.  His work caught the attention of legendary journalist and TV producer
William Peters, who hired him to research and develop documentary film and television projects.  In 1985, Cobb
served as Associate Producer under Peters on the Emmy-award winning documentary Frontline: A Class Divided,
which remains one of the most requested videos on PBS’s website.

In 1986, Cobb accepted an offer to write, produce and ultimately report for Financial News Network, the
first national television network dedicated exclusively to business and financial news.  His work at FNN earned
him a prestigious William Benton Fellowship in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Chicago in 1988.
There, he studied at the Graduate School of Business under Nobel Economics laureate George Stigler, among
others.  When FNN was acquired by CNBC in 1991, Cobb became the network’s senior west coast
correspondent, a position he held for the next 15 years.

During this time he reported on a broad range of companies and profiled numerous leading business
figures, winning recognition from the Cable Television Association, the Radio and Television News Directors
Association and the Los Angeles Press Club.  In response to growing demand for his expertise as a media
consultant, Cobb formed Actual Media LLC in 2004 with his wife, television news producer Katie Cobb.

Two years later, he stepped down from full-time reporting to serve as Vice President of Marketing and
Communications for Phoenix, Arizona-based Kolbe Corp, where he helped develop an award-winning online
marketing campaign with internet marketing agency Mighty Interactive.   Today, as a Managing Partner of Actual
Media, Jerry Cobb leverages his media, marketing and communications expertise to help a broad range of
corporate clients effectively communicate their messages to targeted audiences.

Cobb holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from Brown University and is currently
pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree at Arizona State University.  He and Katie have three
children and reside in Phoenix, Arizona.
